A new species of Velia (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Veliidae) from West Bengal, India.

چکیده
A new Oriental species of water crickets, Velia (Cesavelia) mitrai sp. nov. is described from the vicinity of Darjeeling, West Bengal, India. It was collected from a shaded stream with slow current, situated at an altitude of 2006 m a.s.l. within the Neora Valley National Park. This species is the fourth member of this genus known from India.

An overview and a key to the species of Aphelocheirus of India are given. Aphelocheirus (Aphelocheirus) thirumalaii sp. nov. from Gorumara National Park of Jalpaiguri district, West Bengal, is described. With this new species, eight other species of benthic water bugs (Aphelocheiridae) are reported from India. A distribution map of all known Indian species is also provided.

Only six species of Microvelia have been recorded from Colombia up to the present, namely M. ancona, M. hinei, M. leucothea, M. longipes, M. panamensis, and M. pulchella. Microvelia inguapi sp. n. and M. piedrancha sp. n. are herein described and compared with similar species. An identification key to the Colombian species of Microvelia is presented.
